CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Leuci. 2nd century BC. Stater (Electrum, 21 mm, 7.06 g, 10 h), 'au cheval retournant la tête' type. Celticized laureate head of Apollo to right, the hair in curls with a strand falling loose before the forehead. Rev. Disjointed horse to left, head to right; above, stylized horseman in the form of a cross; split tail ending in a sword and a volute; below, double volute. DT 143. LT 8990. SLM -. Rare and unusually complete, a lovely example. Very fine.
